Before getting the answer, let’s have a look at the decision on prohibition of 59 Chinese apps nationwide taken by the Ministry of Electronics and Information and Technology (MEITY).

According to MEITY, the compilation of data from Chinese apps ultimately impinges on the integrity and sovereignty of our country, which is truly a matter of immediate and deep concern and needs emergency measures.

On the basis of these and upon receiving of recent credible inputs that such Apps pose threat to sovereignty and integrity of India, the Government of India has decided to disallow the usage of certain Apps, used in both mobile and non-mobile Internet-enabled devices.”

They also added that this move would safeguard the crores’ interests of Internet and mobile users in India. The decision is a significant move to ensure Indian cyberspace’s sovereignty and safety.
